Second year and oh what an event we have planned. A new format on the mountain biking calendar in New Zealand - the Pig and Whistle Tour de Whaka. With now FIVE events over an evening and two days with your total time (from 4 of the events) counting towards your final result. A proper mountain bike stage race, transferring road stage racing format into the MTB arena.
But this year with 2 new events added to the mix - with the Friday evening before seeing a stand alone Eliminator event being held down in the absolutely stunning Government Gardens - a winner take all event. And then we will test your navigational and planning abilities with a MTB Rogaine to see if you've brain as well as brawn when it comes to riding
Our aim is to find the best all round mountain bike rider in New Zealand - combining most features of mountain bike racing: Hill climb, Super D, XC, Rogaine and a time trial. This event will test your strength, endurance and bike handling skills to their limit.
Held in Whakarewarewa Forest the Tour de Whaka takes in the best it can offer. You will not be disappointed.
